Over the last few years, Auberge des Gallant has experienced major changes. Extensive architectural upgrades were only the beginning and led to the introduction of many new services that are now available to our patrons. The bustling kitchen of Restaurant 1171 is now directed by none other than Chef Neil Gallant.

With a dedicated team behind them, the Gallant family continues to strive to create a memorable experience for every guest that steps through the front door, an effort they have put forth since 1972. The future of the Auberge is undoubtedly in good hands!

Mr. & Mrs. Gallant masterfully oversaw the expansion of the Auberge which transformed it into a luxurious, full-service resort. Since 2012, the four-star hotel has expanded its services to provide new contemporary amenities, much to the delight of guests. Enjoy the comfort of 41 new rooms, a 60-seat formal dining room, three new reception and/or business halls for up to 200 people, two four-season outdoor spas, and much more. Relaxation and beauty are always on the menu at the full-service Spa Gallant! Whether you stop in for a meal or stay with us for a few days, your visit to Auberge des Gallant is sure to be a unique and cherished experience.

Since its inception, the halls of Auberge des Gallant have resonated with the sounds of celebrations, stories, and cherished memories. A glowing memory in the Gallant’s history revolves around the 1998 ice storm which forced hundreds of people out of their homes. In spite of the significant damage inflicted on the property, the Auberge still opened its doors to 120 people seeking emergency refuge. The Gallant family saw hope in the aftermath of the devastating storm, building a Maple Pavilion that would open in 2000 from the damaged trees. It was an unexpected but symbolic way to realize a dream they had shared for many years!

By 1988, Auberge des Gallant had become a most cherished destination for lovers, newlyweds, and business people alike. A decision was made by Mr. Gallant and his wife to expand the inn  in hopes of increasing the number of activities they could host. Adding 24 rooms and several reception halls allowed them to accommodate various types of events and grow considerable experience. It quickly became evident that this expansion made them stand out in the industry, earning many honorable mentions and awards, such as the Grand Tourism Award — Winner.

In 1972, Mr. Gerard Gallant opened a small inn comprising six bedrooms and an intimate 26-seat dining room. With unique dishes highlighting a variety of seafood and each more delectable than the last, the culinary talents of this Gaspé native quickly became the talk of the town. The reputation of this friendly inn’s fare was enough to attract visitors year after year! Thus, the first chapter of Auberge des Gallant’s story had been written.
