1972

Opening of the Auberge des Gallant

In 1972, Mr. Gérard Gallant opened his small inn with six rooms and a dining room with just
26 seats. With tasty dishes, each more comforting than the next, and featuring seafood, the reputation of this Gaspesian’s culinary talents quickly spread throughout the region. Since then, the reputation of the table of this welcoming inn has been enough to attract year after year
many visitors.

1988

The Inn expands and wins its first prize

The Auberge des Gallant has become one of the most popular destinations for lovers, future brides and grooms, and business clients in the region. It is in the hope of increasing the activities of the Inn and to be faithful to their common vision that Mr. Gallant and his wife decided to add 24 rooms and several reception rooms allowing them to welcome various types of events. With the experience gained since the Auberge opened, the Gallants quickly realized that this major addition had allowed the establishment to stand out in the industry, eventually garnering numerous honors, including the Grand Prix du Tourisme – National Winner.

2000

Opening of the Gallant Sugar Factory

Since its opening, the Auberge des Gallant has been the scene of many happy events as well as many incredible stories and anecdotes. One of the most memorable is without a doubt the events surrounding the ice storm that hit Quebec in 1998. The Gallant property was heavily damaged by the storm, but 120 people had to be evacuated in an emergency. Undeterred, the Gallants decided to turn the situation to their advantage by salvaging the damaged trees to build a pavilion and open their own sugar mill in 2000. A dream they have cherished for many years!

2014

From small inn to hotel complex

Under the masterful leadership of the Gallant couple, the business has greatly evolved into a complete hotel complex. Over the years, the establishment has been able to diversify its offer to provide a wide range of services, much to the delight of visitors. With 41 new rooms, a dining room that seats more than 60 people and the addition of reception and/or business meeting rooms for more than 200 people, the 4-star Inn now offers two outdoor spas open year-round to encourage relaxation and a beauty center with an experienced team. Staying at the Auberge des Gallant is a unique and complete experience.
